Kenneth Gue, Secretary, in the absence of Mike Lewis, Treasurer. The Report was
accepted by motion made by Vic V. and 2nd by Mike La.
Lieutenant Steve M. reported on the
Bears Night Out for the month of February. The Club met at Cutter’s Bar on
Franklin close to Royal on Febr 11, 2006 to watch the Krewe du Vieux Parade. It
was great fun and enjoyed by all.
There was no Vice-President’s Report
because VP Tibby T. was in Texas attending L.U.E.Y. with Lieutenant Sonny C.
Hope they had a good time.
A review of the Carnival Krewe Ball
season heard. NOBBTSC provided security for 3 of the Balls. A special thanks
to Don M. for providing the wine that was donated and given as gifts at these
occasions.
The King Arthur and Krewe of Thoth
(NOT Tooth) parades were discussed. Several members met at the corner of
Josephine and St Charles to attend these parades. We had a great time. Of
course, the parades were wonderful.
Bears, Bubbles and Beads! that was
held on Lundi Gras was mentioned. A special thanks to Dave and Dale for hosting
this excellent event.
A letter was received from the
NO/AIDS Task Force thanking us (on behalf of BLOCK) for the contribution raised
at the last beer bust.
The upcoming April meeting, Bears
Night Out and Bake Sale was discussed. The meeting is scheduled for April 7th.
The Bears Night Out was scheduled for April 8th. The Bake Sale is
scheduled for April 9th. Many members were concerned about this
schedule,…3 days in a row…(you know…we do tire easily.) Therefore, the BEARS
NIGHT OUT WAS MOVED TO APRIL 15TH. The location will be discussed at
the April meeting. To recap, the April meeting will be held at the Phoenix Bar
at 8pm with the Beer Bust to follow. The Bake Sale will be held in front of
Cutter’s Bar on Franklin near Royal on Sunday, April 9th at 9am
(yes, Palm Sunday). The Bears Night Out will be held Saturday, April 15th
at a location to be named later. Clear?
The Club has discussed this before,
but wants to mention it again: Keep May 14th free on your
calendars. That is Mother’s Day….and would have been Wally Sherwood’s 73rd
birthday. We at attempting to get in contact with Marty & Coo from the Friendly
Bar to see if something can be planned in the way of a Memorial Fundraiser for
Buzzy’s Boys and Girls…in Wally’s name. More on this as details become
available.
Bears Night Out for the Month of
March will be held at Elizabeth’s Restaurant 601 Gallier Street (corner of
Gallier and Chartres) at 7pm on March 11th.
There should be a B.L.O.C.K. Beer
Bust held on March 31st. NOBBTSC will be available to assist in
this, think it is someone else’s turn to host it. More info on this on the Yahoo
Group, as details become available.
Mike M. brought up some interesting
events. Mobile, AL. is having a Gay Pride Parade on April 8th,…with
many festivities also held the night before, April 7th. (Yes, this
is the date of our April NOBBTSC meeting.) Mike was asking if it was possible
for NOBBTSC to have a group march in the parade. More info will be put on the
Yahoo Group site as it becomes available.
Mike, also asked about the display
case. Robert F. mentioned that it might be possible to get one from the Lords
that was currently being stored in someone’s garage. This will be checked into
when Tibby returns.
Birthdays and Anniversaries were
announced.

approach the lake.
Of course, it
will be held at the usual time of

Contest/Pageant.
It is being held at the Phoenix Bar (941

shirt to identify us for
this event.
On August 20th, the Gulf

The cost is $20. Get your tickets early, if
possible, as seating is
limited, due to the presence of the Liberty
Bears (from
Philadelphia) and Convergence (from Atlanta) being in
town, and both having
expressed interest in attending.
On Sept 3rd, at about 3
or
4pm, there will be a Bears & Bubbles (or
Bells..or is that
Belles) event at the Sweet Olive Bed & Breakfast
at
2460 North
