New OrleansTravel Package Suggestions Pirates Alley! |

Pirate's Alley, was originally named Orleans Alley but the local New Orleanian's have always called it "Pirate Alley" In days past, Pirates were always ending up at that very spot. The St. Louis Cathedral is to the right. On the left, is the Cabildo or the Old Spanish Governor's Mansion, and directly behind the Cabildo was the original spanish jail. Halfway down the alley, a world famous French Quarter lamppost marks its intersection by Cabildo Alley, which extends the width of the Cabildo, to St. Peter St. Near some of the best restaurants and gumbo shop's in town. Pirates in those day's were well liked by the people who lived in New Orleans, as they we brought here to help fight the Spanish in a time of war. Fortunes we to be made against the well stocked Spanish fleet. Many young men set out for New Orleans to join their ranks!
