Once again we are compelled to review Doric Wilson's Street Theater due to
the very special nature of this past evenings New Orleans performance (August
11, 2005). The playwright himself is present for a several day weekend visit
with the cast and crew. What makes this so special is the playwrights’ special
attention to the New Orleans Community this year, reflecting great credit on the
New Orleans Alliance of Pride Cast and Crew.

The audience was blessed with an after show interview with Doric Wilson. Rare
opportunities still in progress this weekend. So do not miss the performance
today and tomorrow, especially if you want to meet Doric Wilson. It became
apparent Doric was quite impressed by the cast and Crew so without further delay
we are listing the performers in Playbill order:
Steve Patrick; (Murfino)
Jamie G Temple (Jack)
Nancy Hammons (C.B)
Cammie West (Heather)
Carlos Gonzalez (Seymour)
Adam Hawkins (Ceil)
Jim Beeson (Donovan)
W.Grant Gray (Sidney)
Rikki Redd (Boom Boom)
Rommel Ricardo "Gabe" Cummings (Timothy)
David Fuller (Michael)
Christopher J Schumbrecht (Donald)
Michael A Maggio (Jordan)
Michael Paul Castrillo (Gordon)
In the tell all question and answer session we learned much of the real
struggle these people endured during the Stonewall Inn riots. The reality of our
history revealed by a playwright who lived through the events of June 28,1969.
This play truly has become a part of our cultural literature a reference to
Doric's interview with the audience.
Given these characters were real people, it became apparent the performance of
Boom Boom (Rikki Redd) and (Ceil) Adam Hawkins were special characters standing
out in this performance gaining much attention from Doric. Donnie Jay and Todd
Blauvelt were truly recognized by Doric for this casting call. That can also be
said of the entire cast. They all had the attention of Doric and the audience.
We also know the type of men adored by the playwright, as the performance of Jack
(Jamie G Temple) was true to the character. C.B. (Nancy Hammons) was a historic
and well-performed truism to the onset of the Stonewall Inn Riots. Murfino (Steve
Patrick) this man is indeed destined for the annals of leading roles and a
well-spoken raconteur. Sidney (W.Grant Gray) another character who stood out as
an attention grabber. Between Ceil and Sidney I am not sure who brought the most
emotional response from me they both jerked a tear from the corner of my eye. As
to the reality of their performance, again true to character, especially if you
observed the playwright during and after the performance. Humor was met in this
play again and again. So I must say, Heather (Cammy West) flashed me back along
with Jordan (Michael A Maggio) and Seymour (Carlos Gonzalez). Donovan (Jim
Beeson) succeeded with Timothy (Rommel Ricardo) in making me worry about cute
little Timothy. Indeed I was hooked. Interacting with everybody Donald
(Christopher J Schumbrecht), Michael (David Fuller), and Gordon (Michael Paul
Castrillo) also won me over with role pleasing or should I say "role playing"
fun!
